Honoring wonder, fostering friendships, building understanding!
Pathfinder works with the Traverse Symphony to provide musical education all summer long. These activities are open to students of all ages and all skill levels. In 2014, local musician and frequent Pathfinder guest teacher, Mr. Michael Erwin will offer two sessions of summer string camps at the Pathfinder School! These morning day camps which have been scheduled NOT to conflict with the Pathfinder Summer Camp.
Pathfinder Summer Strings Session I
June 16-20 | 9:00-11:30 am
Pathfinder Summer Strings Session II
August 11–15 | 9:00-11:30 am
Tuition: $125 per week
In addition to the camps, Mr. Erwin is available to teach individual private lessons on violin, viola, cello and bass. Students who take private lessons generally become more motivated to practice and enthused about playing. Private lessons provide important one-on-one instruction that can not be duplicated in a large class experience.
Playing a stringed instrument is NOT like riding a bike; good instrumental technique is challenging to acquire and retain! Taking the summer off from playing an instrument is not recommended, especially for beginners. A thoughtful and organized approach to string instruction is the best way to go.
Lesson times with Mr. Erwin can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Although he lives in Buckley, Mr. Erwin is available to teach at the Pathfinder School or his home studio, whatever is most convenient.
