SNOW DAY - School Closing: As winter weather approaches, it is important to be prepared for school closings or delays.
The safety of our students is always our primary concern. In making weather related decisions, we consider three questions:
- Can families travel to campus safely?
- Will campus be safe and accessible when they arrive?
- Will adequate supervision be in place when students arrive?
If weather causes any doubt to affirmative answers to any of these questions, safety is at risk.
The Pathfinder School follows the Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) when delays or closings are reported. Pathfinder exists within the TCAPS geographic district. TCAPS consults with public road and safety officials in making their determination and are able to staff physical surveys of the road conditions across the area. Other private and charter schools operating within the TCAPS boundaries follow this same procedure.
If TCAPS schools are closed due to weather, The Pathfinder School will also be closed or on the same delay schedule.
We will notify both 9&10 and 7&4News, and local radio stations.
In addition, we will post communications on our website and FaceBook page and Twitter, followed by an email to our parent list.
2 Hour DELAY: In the event of a two hour delay, classes start at 10:15 a.m.
- Please do not drop-off students until 10:00 a.m.
- No evening activities are held when school is closed for the day.
