Fall Conferences will take place the afternoon and evening of Thursday, November 2nd and all day on Friday, November 3rd. There will be NO SCHOOL on these days.

I have attached a link to a short survey which will better enable us to schedule a conference time for your 6th, 7th and 8th grade student. While we attempt to accommodate everyone's schedule as best as possible, we appreciate your flexibility. Additionally, if we do not receive a response to the survey by Friday, October 20th, we will inform you of your scheduled conference time.

Grades PK-5th will sign up for their conference with their individual classroom teacher. Your teacher will contact you with more details.

Pathfinder 2017-2018 School Directories

Located in your family mailbox you will find the 2017-2018 Pathfinder School Directory. The directory includes class lists, teacher/staff contact information, parent phone numbers and email addresses. If changes occur in your contact information please contact Crystal (995-3800) so we can continue to keep your directory as current as possible.

Join us for the Zombie Run! There is still time to sign up. The race is on October 28th starting at 9:00 am at Right Brain. It winds through downtown neighborhoods with the finish line returning to Right Brain. Many people opt to dress up like zombies for this race.  However, that is not a requirement. Here is the website that has more information about the race.

Please let Coach Belanger know if you are planning on attending.  Deadline to sign up for Pathfinder group is Oct. 20th

Crystal Mountain Ski Club

We are close to a decision on the official day of the week for our Pathfinder Ski Club.

The Program runs January 3 through March. Ski nights start after school on the given night and runs until tired or close. Condensed lessons are included with the program to help kids improve their skiing. If any child or adult is having trouble advancing I will provide supplemental lessons (I’ve instructed for 15+ years).

Vote for Thursday or Friday with a commitment to join.  Vote for the night of the week by committing to join on that night.  The night with the most joining members will become the official Ski club night. Thursday does yield two extra nights due to blackouts caused by Holiday weekends (MLK and President's’ day) for Friday skiing. Friday does allow for some quality sleep Saturday morning…

Attached is LAST YEARS brochure on Crystal Mountain school programs to help with the decision.

Upcoming Athletic Events

Girls basketball practice starts today!

Battle of the Books, a National Writers Series program, is a free, book-based quiz competition for fourth and fifth graders in the Grand Traverse community. Teams of 4 - 6 students and a coach read 10 incredible stories and then test their mettle and knowledge of those stories in quiz bowl style competitions.

Informational Meeting: 4pm on Saturday, October 21st

McGuire Room, Traverse Area District Library - Woodmere location

Registration Opens: Thursday, November 10th

**Registration is expected to fill quickly for 48 guaranteed team slots.

Forming your teams and securing a coach in advance is highly recommended.

School pictures will be available online in the coming weeks! Parents will be able to view and order all photos online this year through  Nicole Martin's website. Each student will receive a class picture in addition to any pictures  bought a la cart or by package. There is even the opportunity to purchase full digital ownership of all of your students photos which can make great gifts down the road.

If your child was absent on picture day, we will connect with you directly to schedule your retakes later this month.
