The Pathfinder School: Traverse City Community School

Special Services & Tutoring

Pathfinder serves a full spectrum of learning styles

Inidividual Learning Styles

A cornerstone of our approach to teaching recognizes that each child has different learning needs. Because of our small classes and skilled teachers, we're able to respond to these individual learning styles. Whether a child requires remedial support, acceleration or social support, no child "slips through the cracks" in our personalized environment.

The Pathfinder team of teachers, in addition to being attuned to their students, is equipped with a variety of specialized training that includes emphasis on special education, gifted and talented learning, reading support and arts integration. Please visit the Faculty and Staff Bio section of this website for more information.

Students With Special Needs

Pathfinder students with special needs also qualify for evaluation and special services through the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District. These services include Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. To inquire about services offered, or the process to implement services, please consult with the Pathfinder School’s faculty, the Head of School or TBA-ISD school representative: Kim Lowder, Teacher Consultant EI, 922-6509.
