T. Cousins

3rd Grade Teacher

Thelma (T.) Cousins is a career Independent School teacher with over 30 years of experience.  She has taught children from ages 3 to 10 and is currently the third grade teacher at Pathfinder.  In 2010, she became an Orton-Gillingham tutor and is trained to screen both children and adults for Dyslexia.  Along with teaching full time, she maintains a private practice utilizing the summer months to help her students gain significant progress in their quest to become proficient readers. Her personal mission: every child has the right to correct instruction leading to learning life skills for success.  Reading is one of the most important of these. No child should ever suffer because reading is too difficult to learn in a regular classroom.  Independent, scientific norm based research supports the methods T. uses to help children achieve this goal.
