Kate Gordon
Second Grade Teacher
Kate joins us this year as our second grade teacher, having spent the previous year, her first in Traverse City, packing in all the Pathfinder experience she could. In 2010-2011, Kate substituted in classrooms from early el to middle school, coming on board fully in the spring as a long-term guest librarian. This past summer she served as a counselor in Pathfinder’s fabulous summer camp. In earlier years, Kate taught fifth and sixth grade at the West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science, with a focus on outdoor education, and was a middle school math teacher at Mt. Pleasant Christian Academy. An accomplished musician, Kate has taught music classes for children ages 0-4 and their parents. Kate enjoys hiking, reading, creating, playing the harp and spending time with one very spoiled dog, Chani.
