Dawn Iott
Elementary School Science Teacher
Dawn joined Pathfinder in 1992 and has taught elementary science and middle school logic over the years. In earlier days, Dawn worked as a scientist for eight years at a corporate research and engineering lab in the fields of materials and metallurgy. She was one of the founding "Community of Learners" for the Great Lakes Water Studies Institute and is a charter member of "Women of the Water". While teaching, Dawn remains excited about engaging children in new quests for understanding.
Dawn is a proud mother of two children who graduated from Pathfinder: Jesse '96 (Kenyon College, '04 and University of Toronto, '05) and Alice Rose '99 (Kalamazoo College, '07). She is also the starry-eyed grandmother of twins Jamie and Gibson. Dawn lives on the family potato farm in Kalkaska with her husband Dennis and enjoys fly-fishing, kayaking, biking, skiing and snowshoeing.
